Intro
Cryptography is nowadays a daily need. E.g., while online managing your bank account (hopefully) measures are taken to protect the data from unauthorized reading/writing. How do these measures work? How to convince ourselfes of their security? Where are the weaknesses?
This course provides theoretical foundations of traditional and modern cryptosystems and their analysis (also from an attacker's view). It is planned to be 'hands-on': theory will be illustrated using the computer algebra system Sage and in exercises participants are required to program Sage notebooks in order to model cryptosystems and to analyze encrypted communication.
